The ABV formation of former president and ex-Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) leader Georgi Parvanov has attracted about 20% of BSP’s supporters, according to a recent public opinion survey conducted by the Alfa Research polling agency.
Currently, ABV is backed by 15%, the Bulgarian News Agency reported, quoting the poll results.
According to the poll, the opposition centre-right GERB enjoys the widest public support, 17.8%, followed by BSP and the ethnic Turks’ Movement for Rights and Freedoms, DPS.
Another political formation, Bulgaria without Censorship, was registered on Saturday. The new party, led by former TV host Nikolai Barekov, will try to win 4 out of 17 Bulgarian seats in the European Parliament and to cross the 4.0% threshold for entry into Bulgaria’s parliament, BTA reported.
