The Hellenic Business Council in Bulgaria organized a conference with title «Greece – Bulgaria Cross-border Cooperation in the framework of the European Union».
The event took place on 7th of April 2017 at the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki.
Participation in the event took also the Ministry of Interior (Macedonia – Thrace), diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria and the Consulate of Republic of Bulgaria in Thessaloniki.
The commission of the competition was consisted by Mr. Vladimir Pisanchev, General Consul of Bulgaria in Thessaloniki, Mrs. Nadia Radeva, Bulgarian Plenipotentiary Minister at the General Consulate in Thessaloniki, Mr. Kyriakos Fotiadis, coordinator in secretariat of cooperation programs INTERREG V-A ‘’Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020’’, Mr. Dimitrios Kirkilis and Mr. Hristos Paraskevopoulos, lectors in Macedonia University in Thessaloniki.
The executive Director of HBCB Mr. Minko Gedjikov gave a talk about the cross-border cooperation between Greece and Bulgaria causing a big interest of the audience.
HBCB donated gratuitously the amount of 750 euro for the purpose of provision of monetary prize for three students from Greece and Bulgaria participated in the competition on the topic ‘’Cross-border cooperation between Greece and Bulgaria in the European Union.
The first prize won Dimitra Sarakatsianou, graduated at University of Macedonia for the work entitled ‘’Cross-border cooperation between Greece and Bulgaria in INTERREG IV Program: Project Analysis on Actions Lifelong Learning".
The second Prize took Theodoros Vamvakidis for "Cross-border cooperation between Greece and Bulgaria in the European Union", undergraduate of the University of Macedonia.
The third prize won the work entitled «The evolution of Greek investments in the Bulgarian market in recent years and the expansion efforts of territorial cooperation within the EU" of Toumaras Nikolaos, undergraduate of Economics at the Athens University.
The prizes were bestowed by Mr. Nikolaos Georgopoulos, member of the HBCB Board of directors.
