HBCB Business Meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Development of the Republic of Bulgaria

On the 11th of March 2014 at Sofia Hotel Balkan took place a Business Meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Development of the Republic of Bulgaria Mrs. Daniela Bobeva. The Meeting was attended by more than 120 managers and employees from companies-members of HBCB.
The topic of the meeting was the “Investment policy of the Bulgarian government and steps for supporting the business climate in the country”.
Ms. Bobeva delivered introductory speech on the topic of the event “Investment policy of the Bulgarian government and steps for supporting the business climate in the country”. She stressed that the Bulgarian economy has shown exceptional resistance and expected GDP growth in the range of 1 % for this year.
Deputy Prime Minister guaranteed to the guests of the event a sustainable fiscal framework and said there was no planned tax increases, which will keep Bulgaria as one of the countries with the lowest tax level in Europe. Mrs Bobeva’s government has begun major reforms for a start in the field of public procurement. A forthcoming reform is the reducing the administrative burden on businesses and citizens.
"We stand on the side of business," said Ms. Bobeva and shared with the guests Government's strategy to help small and medium enterprises in Bulgaria. Part of it is to promote fair competition. "We are ready to partner with the business in this respect" said finally the Deputy Prime Minister.
After the speech of Mrs. Bobeva the floor was open for discussions. Mr. Evangelos Lytras, Country Manager of Alpha Bank Bulgaria was the first who took the microphone. After him Mr. Emil Naydenov Representative Sienit Holding JSC, Mr. George Roussos, CEO Intracom Bulgaria, Mrs. Margarita Karidi, Executive Director of Piraeus Bank Bulgaria, Mr. Athanasios Kutsopolos, CEO of Piraeus Bank, Mr. Julian Mihov Director Business Development at Ernst & Young, Mrs. Sonia Penkova, Managing Director at Cypbul Enterprises Ltd. also placed their questions to the Deputy Prime Minister. In the discussion also took part Mr. Svetoslav Mladenov, Executive Director at Invest Bulgaria Agency and Th.E. the Ambassadors of Greece and Cyprus in Bulgaria Mr. Dimosthenis Stoidis and Mr. Stavros Amvrosiou.

On December 12th, 2019, HBCB organized a business breakfast meeting with H.E. Mr Dimitris Chronopoulos, Ambassador of Greece to Bulgaria and Mr Theodosios Vallas, Minister Plenipotentiary for Economic and Commercial Affairs. On 28th of November HBCB’s esteemed member Globe One Digital embraced the challenge of offering its expert knowledge of the secrets of digital marketing in an intensive seminar, addressed to more than 100 Hellenic Business Council of Bulgaria members. The event was organized in collaboration with Globe One at Sofia Hotel Balkan as part of Globe One Digital’s five-year anniversary celebrating its presence in Bulgaria.
