A Toast To the New Year

Members and friends of the Hellenic Business Council in Bulgaria HBCB gathered at the traditional HBCB New Year’s party at the “Sofia Hotel Balkan” to raise a toast to a successful new 2014. The program included traditional Greek music and vasilopita cutting for health and prosperity. The HBCB New Year’s party was an opportunity for partners and friends to meet and exchange positive energy.
The event was opened by HBCB’s Chairman, Mr. Stamatios Theodoropoulos, who welcomed the guests and wished them a Happy New Year. “HBCB is constantly trying to improve its effectiveness and this trend will continue in 2014 as well”, Mr. Theodoropoulos said. He added that soon all members of the organization will be able to fill out a questionnaire to give their input and suggestions for the future activities of the Council.
The Ambassador of Greece to Bulgaria, H.E. Dimosthenis Stoidis also greeted the guests stressing the importance of HBCB mission and activities. “2014 will be an interesting year for Bulgaria and Greece“, he said. Greece is currently at the forefront of the European Union in a very decisive time for the future of the Union. After only four months the elections for members of the European parliament will take place, which will also be important for the years to come.” The event was also honored by the presence of H.E. Mr. Stavros Amvrosiou, Ambassador of Cyprus in Sofia.
HBCB would like to thank the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Mr. Plamen Oresharski, who in an official letter to the Chairman of HBCB expressed his wishes for health, personal happiness and professional success to all members of HBCB stressing the fact that the improvement of the business climate and active approach to investment are among the priorities of the Bulgarian government. “I welcome your efforts to encourage trade relations, investment and cooperation between Bulgaria and Greece.”, Mr. Oresharski wrote.
The festive program began in a casual atmosphere under the accompaniment of nice music. Later on, the traditional Greek music with bouzouki also made a great deal of the excellent mood of the guests. According to HBCB annual tradition, the vassilopita, provided by Alma Libre, was cut for health and prosperity.
