On June 1st 2017 Aristotelis Association, together with Hellenic Business Council in Bulgaria and the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, organized a great concert, dedicated to the Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis.
The Chairman of HBCB Mr. Stamatis Theodoropoulos stressed the great value of co-organizing such events, expressing the willingness to continue and develop joint activities.
The University of National and World Economy hosted the concert at the Maxima Hall where more than 500 Greek and Bulgarian attendants had the pleasure to delight the musical night.
The event was attended by H.E. Mr. Grigorios Vassilokonstantakis, Ambassador of Greece in Sofia and by the Ambassador of Cyprus H.E. Mr. Stavros Avgoustides.
The internationally renowned tenor Yorgos Philadelpheas performed famous compositions by Mikis Theodorakis in a unique way, combining classical arrangements and orchestra with folk musical instruments.
Present at the concert was the famous actor of the State Theater Stoyan Alexiev. The Greek actor Anni Papadopoulou gave an extraordinary recitation by a poem of the Bulgarian poet Elizabeta Bagriana.
The musical evening ended with the very impressive choir of children from the Greek schools accompanied by the tenor Yorgos Philadelpheas.
Representatives of foreign delegations, as well as Odysseas Elytis, DOME and Rigas Feraios attended the concert. A special honor for the event was the presence of MEP in Greece Konstantinka Kuneva.
