On the 22nd of January 2020 over 700 members and friends of the Hellenic Business Council in Bulgaria gathered at Sofia Hotel Balkan's Royal Hall to raise a toast for the 15th Anniversary of the establishment of Hellenic Business Council at its traditional New Year’s Party.
Special guests from Athens were Mr. Konstantinos Bitsios, Vice President of Hellenic Federation of Enterprises – SEV and Mrs. Vicky Makrigianni, SEV Senior Advisor. The occasion for their visit was HBCB invitation for signing a Memorandum of Understanding a few hours earlier.
This year's event featured a festive program with traditional Greek music, Vassilopita cutting and a lot of exciting prizes. The HBCB party provided an excellent opportunity to meet partners and friends and to welcome the New 2020.
The evening began in a casual atmosphere under the accompaniment of guitar and piano melodies, performed by Dino and Daphne who came from Greece especially for the event.
Wishes for success and prosperity for the New Year expressed the Chairman of HBCB Mr. Stamatis Theodoropoulos. He welcomed the guests and thanked them for their commitment to HBCB mission and the continuous support of the Council. Mr. Theodoropoulos also stated at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Hellenic Federation of Enterprises and HBCB, valuating it as the highest and most honorable recognition the Council has received from the most important business representative organization in Greece.
A congratulatory speech was also made by Mr. Konstantios Bitsios, SEV Vice President, who wished the quests a Happy New Year and stressed at the Memorandum both sides just signed, which will give the opportunity for strengthening the cooperation between the two countries.
In this connection the Ambassador of Greece to Bulgaria, H.E. Mr. Dimitris Chronopoulos also underlined the importance of the Memorandum. He emphasized the coincidence this year of the 140-year diplomatic relations between Greece and Bulgaria and wished more new opportunities for strengthening economic and trade relations through the New Year.
The event was also honored by the presence of H.E. Mr. Marios Kountourides, Ambassador of Cyprus in Sofia. He wished everybody a Happy New Year, full of health, joy and happiness and new achievements.
The Master of ceremony, Mrs. Adelina Radeva, thanked all sponsors and companies that kindly provided the gifts for the winners in the festive raffle. According to HBCB annual tradition, the Vassilopita, provided by Alma Libre, was officially cut in hopes of health and prosperity.
Later on, the impressive choreography of Los Pambos Ballet and the traditional Greek music also made a great deal of the excellent mood of the guests, who enjoyed the delicious Greek kitchen and exceptional wines.

HBCB Business Breakfast Meeting with H.E. Mr. Dimitris Chronopoulos, Ambassador of Greece to Bulgaria
On December 12th, 2019, HBCB organized a business breakfast meeting with H.E. Mr Dimitris Chronopoulos, Ambassador of Greece to Bulgaria and Mr Theodosios Vallas, Minister Plenipotentiary for Economic and Commercial Affairs. Moderator of the meeting was Mr. Minko Gerdjikov, Executive Director of HBCB. The event was hosted at the elegant renovated Serdika hall of Sofia hotel Balkan and was attended by more than 80 Greek and Bulgarian managers and HBCB members and representatives from the Greek Embassy. Special guest was Mr. Andreas Beikos, Head of Office European International Bank Group Office for Bulgaria.
Digital Marketing & Business Growth by Globe One
On 28th of November HBCB’s esteemed member Globe One Digital embraced the challenge of offering its expert knowledge of the secrets of digital marketing in an intensive seminar, addressed to more than 100 Hellenic Business Council of Bulgaria members. The event was organized in collaboration with Globe One at Sofia Hotel Balkan as part of Globe One Digital’s five-year anniversary celebrating its presence in Bulgaria.
Greece and friends of Greece at the IWC Charity Bazaar
Greece participates for one more year in the International Women's Club Charity Bazaar at the Inter Expo Center in Sofia. On 01.12.2019, from 09:00 to 19:00, the Greek Kiosk (Hall 2) will be waiting for you with plenty of Greek delicacies and traditional products, with activities, travel images, music and with a large group of volunteers full of fun, smiles and good mood!
