European Idea Should Have EU Citizens’ Support, Plevneliev and Barroso Say

The European idea needs a new wave of support not only from EU institutions, but also from the governments of EU Member States, as well as the EU citizens. This was what Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev and President of the European Commission in the period 2004-2014, Jose Manuel Barroso, said at a meeting in Sofia. "The migration crisis is a key test of the ability of the Member States of the Union to act united," President Plevneliev said. He reiterated that the EU should make a difference between refugees of war and economic migrants.
