EU To Grant Sofia Over 60 Mln Euro for Public Transport Upgrade

The European Union will grant Bulgaria's capital Sofia over 60 million euro ($86.7 million) for an upgrade of its public transport, Sofia mayor Yordanka Fandakova said on Thursday.

With the money Sofia will build a smart public transport management system, modernise its trolleybus and tram fleets and build new tram lines.

The grant agreement will be signed on August 23.
