EU Regional Policy Commissioner Corina Cretu Arrives in Bulgaria on 2-Day Visit

EU Regional Policy Commissioner Corina Cretu arrives in Bulgaria on a 2-day visit on May 28.
The visit will focus on investments which the EU makes in the development of the region through its cohesion policy.
In the period 2014-2020, Bulgaria has been allocated EU funding of 7.6 billion euros under the cohesion policy.
The new operational programs aim to increase Bulgaria’s competitiveness through support for small and medium-sized enterprises in order to promote the creation of skilled and well-paid jobs; for the creation of systems and structures targeting the development of high-class research and innovation; for the improvement of basic infrastructure and services for the people such as water supply and waste management; for boosting administrative service and management.
