The European Union (EU) executive on Tuesday acknowledged Bulgaria's efforts to deliver judicial reform and tackle corruption and called for further progress and improvement of judicial practice.
A strong reform momentum has been established in Bulgaria since the European Commission's last annual report in July 2009, the EU executive said in the latest iteration of the report released under the bloc's Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (CVM).
The CVM was set up with Bulgaria's entry into the EU in January 2007 to help it remedy certain shortcomings in the areas of judicial reform and the fight against corruption and to monitor progress in these areas.
