EU Parliament Urges Tough Conditions for South Stream
Friday, 19 September 2014
The European Parliament has called on Brussels to attach more strings to the South Stream pipeline project.
A majority of MEPs believes new criteria should be introduced, helping Russia to avoid further sanctions, and agreements in the field of energy which are currently in force should be reversed.
The Parliament has welcomed signs of normalization following peace efforts in Ukraine's Donbass region, but has voiced concerns over Russia's intentions in the light of what some MEPs described as "hybrid war".
