State and government leaders from the EU countries met in Brussels to seek agreement on a fiscal pact for budgetary discipline.
Among the issues on the agenda of the summit is whether the countries outside the euro zone but participating in the pact will be granted observer status, state-run Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) reported.
If they are left out of the decision-making process, the number of states which support the pact may drop to less than 26.
Interviewed by the state-run Bulgarian National Radio, Prime Minister Boiko Borisov reiterated Bulgaria's stand that the country's participation in the pact should not entail financial obligations or commitments for the alignment of its tax policy with the other signatories, as well as that it should be granted observer status.
