EU Countries, European Parliament Agree on 2015 Budget

The European Parliament and the EU Member States have reached preliminary agreement on the EU 2015 budget.
The compromised reached between the two sides sets the total payments in 2015 at 141.2 billion euros, with total commitments amounting to 145.3 billion euros.
To remedy damages caused by natural disasters payments of a total amount of 126.7 billion euros are mobilized under the EU solidarity fund to the benefit of Serbia (60.2 million euros), Slovenia (18.4 million euros), Croatia (17.6 million euros), Italy (16.3 million euros), Bulgaria (10.5 million euros) and Greece (3.7 million euros), according to a media statement of the Council of the European Union.
The EU 2015 budget, as well as the pending draft amendment budgets for 2014, is expected to be conclusively approved by the Council on Friday and by the EP next week, according to the Bulgarian National Radio.
