Bulgaria's regional development ministry said on Wednesday that the European Union's executive body has granted the country's request for co-financing for the Maritsa motorway project.
Some 80% of the project's total value of 203.8 million levs ($138 million/104.2 million euro) will be provided as grant financing under the EU-funded operational programme Transport while the remainder will be allocated from the state budget, the ministry said in a press release.
The Maritsa highway in southern Bulgaria is part of pan-European transport Corridor IV. Its construction began in August last year.
