ESM Аpproves Рelease of 1-bln-euro Loan Tranche to Greece

The European Stability Mechanism’s (ESM) board of directors authorized on Tuesday evening the disbursement of Greece’s 1-billion-euro loan tranche, after the country completed all prior actions required by its lenders.
It’s head, Klaus Regling, said in a statement that with today’s disbursement, the total amount of ESM financial aid to Greece will reach 21.4 billion euros, which is around 25 pct of the initial programme volume of up to 86 billion euros earmarked for the country.
He also noted that the next step is to complete the first review of the ESM programme in early 2016 and warned that only a successful conclusion will lead to talks on further debt relief.
