Electricity Prices to Fall by up to 2% for Bulgaria's Businesses

From November 1 the price of electricity for businesses is about to fall slightly, while for the domestic users it will remain unchanged, according to a proposal by the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation. According to chairman Ivan Ivanov the electricity price for households will remain the same, as the change would be less than 0.5%.
On the other hand, electricity for small businesses that buy from the regulated market will drop by 2%. For large and medium-sized companies the electricity will also come at lower prices because their CSR costs will be reduced by 1.07 levs - from 37.90 levs to 36.83 levs per megawatt hour.
The reason for the reduction is a more than 14% decrease in the price of natural gas in the last three months, Ivan Ivanov revealed.
The price reduction for the business, however, is much less than the demands of employers. The four employers' organizations CEIBG, BIA, BCCI and BICA asked for the prices to return to the level before the August 1 price hike.
