EIB, Bulgaria to Hold Talks on up to 500 Mln Euro Credit Line in 2014-2020

Bulgaria and the European Investment Bank (EIB) will hold talks on a framework agreement for a new credit line of up to 500 million euro ($678.15 million) in the 2014-2020 programming period, the Bulgarian government said.
Bulgaria needs the money to re-finance and co-finance major infrastructure projects, a government prеss release quoted prime minister Plamen Oresharski as saying after a meeting with EIB vice president Mihai Tanasescu.
The focus of cooperation between Bulgaria and the EIB under the 2014-2020 financial framework should be on projects for the development of rural areas, the government quoted Tanasescu as saying.
Tanasescu also said that he discussed with Oresharski the options for an up to 150 million euro framework loan for the development of rural areas.
