Economic Freedom in Bulgaria Improves

Economic freedom in Bulgaria is improving, though the country ranks one position down from last year in the 2014 Index of Economic Freedom of the Heritage Foundation and the Wall Street Journal, a local think-tank said.
Bulgaria’s fall to the 61st spot is due to faster reforms in other countries, the Institute for Market Economics said.
The Index of Economic Freedom, which  covers 186 countries in its latest edition, measures economic freedom in 10 categories: labour freedom, business freedom, trade freedom, fiscal freedom, government spending, monetary freedom, investment freedom, financial freedom, property rights and freedom from corruption.
The top three countries in the ranking this year were Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.
