EC: Bulgaria Has Fulfilled the Requirements to Join Schengen

The European Commission confirmed that Bulgaria and Romania have fulfilled the requirements for joining the Schengen area. At a briefing in Brussels, the Commission’s spokesperson Mina Andreeva said that the Commission’s position on the issue is very clear – Bulgaria and Romania meet the requirements for Schengen membership. What remains is for the unanimous decision to be made for their accession.
