The newly elected president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Suma Chakrabarti arrived on a two-day official visit to Sofia at the invitation of Bulgarian finance minister Simeon Dyankov.
The two officials discussed the EBRD potential assistance to the government in the implementation of its priorities, including the option for several small municipalities to apply together with the bank for funding for a single joint project, the finance ministry said in a press release published on its website on Tuesday.
Chakrabarti said he was impressed with the fiscal measures undertaken by Bulgaria and expressed his confidence that through proper policies, export growth would rise, thus leading to economic growth as well.
