Draft Bill Sweetens Terms for Voluntary Return of Illegal Funds to Greece

Greece’s justice ministry will shortly move to Parliament a draft bill envisaging more favourable treatment by criminal courts of felons that voluntarily return illegal funds to the Greek state, the Athens News Agency-Macedonian Press Agency reported.
Under the bill, the frozen assets or bank accounts of individuals facing charges for financial crimes such as tax and customs law violations, harming EU interests, money laundering and submitting inaccurate source of financial statements, or breach of faith, mismanagement and embezzlement, will be seized by the state.
