Disbursement Of 1 bln Euro Tranche To Be Discussed at Eurogroup

The disbursement of the approximately 1 billion euro tranche from the activation of the debt measures is the first topic of the debate at Friday's Eurogroup meeting.
These funds do not constitute a new loan but they reflect the return of the profits held by the European central banks from the Greek bonds (ANFAs and SMPs) and the suspension of the interest rate surcharge of the second loan agreement.
The 19 eurozone finance ministers received a positive resolution from their EuroWorking Group, which convened on Wednesday to assess the institutions' report on the implementation of the agreed reforms. The updated Enhanced Surveillance Report published by the European Commission concluded that Greece has taken the "necessary" actions to fulfill all the commitments related to the disbursement of the installment.
