Deputy Economy Minister Enters Power Grid Operator Board

The state-run Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) said it appointed deputy economy minister Evgenia Haritonova as member of the board of directors of the state power grid operator NEK.

Haritonova will replace Valentin Nikolov, BEH said in a statement on Wednesday.

On May 14, prime minister Boiko Borisov appointed Haritonova as deputy minister of economy, energy and tourism in charge of energy issues.

Prior to taking this position, Haritonova was member of the State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission. She has also worked at the state-owned Electricity System Operator (ESO) and NEK.
