In May 2018, deposits placed by the private sector increased by 919 million euro, compared with an increase of 870 million euro in the previous month and the annual growth rate stood at 7.4 pct from 7.2 pct in the previous month, according to the Bank of Greece.
In the same period, corporate deposits increased by 580 million euro, compared with an increase of 866 million euro in the previous month and the annual growth rate stood at 13.1 pct from 14.9 pct in the previous month. In particular, deposits from non-financial corporations increased by 747 million euro, against an increase of 120 million euro in the previous month, while deposits placed by insurance corporations and other financial intermediaries decreased by 167 million euro, in May 2018, compared with an increase of 746 million euro in the previous month.
Deposits placed by households and private non-profit institutions increased by 339 million euro, compared with an increase of 4 million euro in the previous month and the annual growth rate stood at 6.2 pct from 5.6 pct in the previous month.
