Bulgarian Transport Minister Ivaylo Moskovski announced during a construction forum that the Danube Bridge 2 Project (Vidin-Calafat) would be finalized by end-2012.
He added that the adjacent infrastructure was almost ready and the bridge could be fully assembled by end-October or November.
Moskovski, as cited by the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA), said that in a mid-term plan, several options were expected to come up for granting under concession the Danube ports of Tutrakan, Nikopol, Vidin South, Ruse West, and Ruse East.
He explained that Port Burgas West was at a preparatory stage and Port Varna was at an exploratory stage.
Bulgaria's Transport Minister announced that the entire Plovdiv Airport would be offered on concession, not only the cargo terminal.
He further informed that the Ruse Airport would be transferred to the Ruse Municipality to be developed as a regional airport, while the Gorna Oryahovitsa Airport had been allocated an extended concession period but had failed to attract candidates.
Moskovski also made clear that a contractor had been selected for the preparatory activities for granting Sofia Airport under concession. (Source: Sofia News Agency)
