During the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2018, culture will be viewed as one of the main engines in the future development of the EU, said here Culture Minister Boil Banov during the Tuesday meeting of the Education, Youth, Culture and Sport Council, the Bulgarian Culture Ministry reported on Wednesday.
Banov said that an emphasis will be placed on contemporary elements, citizens, young people and digital opportunities. He assured that work will continue on one of the priorities included in the agenda of the EU Presidency Trio, which is the Audiovisual Media Services Directive. It is of special importance to Bulgaria that the EU Presidency will be held during the European Year of Cultural Heritage in 2018, he noted.
