Consultative Council for National Security Comes Up with Ideas for Categorical Sanctioning of Exponents of Ethnic, Religious Intolerance

The Consultative Council for National Security which held a meeting Saturday amidst heightened tension in the wake of the developments in the village of Katounitsa, Southern Bulgaria, came up with ideas for categorical and uncompromising sanctioning of the exponents of ethnic and religious intolerance, President Georgi Purvanov said after the end of the meeting.

The Council discussed current problems of internal security, urgent measures to ensure law and order and to avert ethnic tensions in Bulgaria. The Consultative Council met in the wake of daily countrywide anti-Roma protests sparked by the September 23 killing of a 19-year-old man in the southern Village of Katounitsa by men believed to be close to self-proclaimed local "Roma Tsar" Kiril Rashkov./Source: BTA/
