The construction has been launched of a 1.0 million euro traffic tower in Bulgaria's Black Sea port of Burgas, the country’s transport ministry said on Wednesday. The traffic tower, to replace an outmoded structure built in 1997, is part of a project for Vessel Traffic Management Information Systems and is financed under the EU-backed operational program Transport, the ministry said in a press release. The project will help improve navigational safety and meet obligations stemming from Bulgaria's EU membership.
