China's Cenntro Automotive Corporation, Partner to Open Electric Utility Vehicles Plant in Bulgaria

Chinese producer of electric vehicles Cenntro Automotive Corporation and its partner, Luxembourg-based SEVIC eMobility, plan to invest 10 million euro ($11.7 million) in the next three years in an assembly plant for electric utility vehicles in the an economic zone near the city of Plovdiv, the operator of the economic zone said on Thursday.
The two companies plan to make the plant a regional centre not just for the assembly of electric vehicle utilities but also for the production of their parts and maintenance, Cenntro Automotive Corporation's CEO, Peter Wang said, as quoted in a statement by Trakia Economic Zone.
The plant, which will hire 150, will assemble small electric utility vehicles with a capacity of 500 kg, which do not need a special charging station and can be plugged directly into the electricity network.
