Changes to personal income taxation in Greece

Greece introduced new progressive income tax scale for salary income, pension income, freelancer income and agricultural income earned as of fiscal year 2016. In addition, solidarity tax provisions were incorporated into the Greek Income Tax Code, with rates that are no longer flat, but applied progressively per income band. The new changes also affect taxation of capital income by imposing higher rates on dividends and real estate income.
