Business Forum Marks High Growth of Economic Ties with Cyprus

At the opening of the Bulgaria-Cyprus business forum in Sofia, Bulgarian President Rossen Plevneliev called business circles in Cyprus to enhance their activities in Bulgaria and encouraged Bulgarian companies to invest on the island. The Bulgarian head of state pointed out that in 2015 bilateral trade exchange has grown by 81% on the preceding year. Bulgarian export for Cyprus has increased by 90% within a year, while Cypriot export to Bulgaria is up by 47%. Cyprus is the sixth biggest investor in Bulgaria with investments to the tune of 2.1 billion euros since 1996. The President of Cyprus Nikos Anastasiadis pointed out on his part to the shared will for taking measures for optimizing cooperation in spheres of mutual interest.
