Bulgaria's YTD power output drops 8.18%, exports down 15.44%

Bulgaria’s electricity production fell by an annual 8.18% to 23,305 GWh in the January 1 - July 26 period of 2020, according to data from the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).

Electricity exports dropped 15.44% to 4,324 GWh in the period under review, while imports grew 22.73% to 2,320 GWh, data from ESO's weekly bulletin showed.

Domestic power consumption fell 3.86% to 21,301 GWh.

The volume of renewable energy in the transmission system increased 15.34% year-on-year to 809 GWh, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system rose 9.51% to 1,188 GWh.
