Bulgaria's Varna water utility signs deals for EU-backed projects worth 32.6 mln euro

Bulgarian water utility company ViK Varna said on Monday that it has signed two deals for reconstruction of water supply and sewage infrastructure, worth a total of 63.8 million levs ($39.6 million/32.6 million euro), with two local tie-ups.

The larger deal, worth 39.3 million levs, was signed on February 17 with a tie-up between Hydrostroy and Avtomagistrali Sofia, ViK Varna said in a notice to the public procurement agency.

Hydrostroy and Avtomagistrali Sofia own equal stakes in the tie-up, according to registry agency data.

The second contract, worth 24.5 million levs, was won by a tie-up comprising Ingstroyengineering, Bul Stroy Consult - Varna, and Bitumina Gmbh - Bulgaria. The deal was signed on February 19.

Ingstroyengineering controls 51% interest, Bitumina Gmbh - Bulgaria owns 46.35%, and Bul Stroy Consult - Varna has 2.65%, registry agency data shows.

The tenders for the contracts attracted two valid bids each.
