The turnover indices in the services sector in Bulgaria, covering information and communication, logistics and other business services, fell on an annual comparison basis in the third quarter of 2020, the national statistical office said on Monday.
Turnover from transportation, storage and postal services dropped 14% on the year in the July-September period, the National Statistical Institute said in a statement, citing preliminary data.
Within the transportation, storage and postal services segment, air transport showed the highest annual decrease in turnover - by 75%, followed by water transport with a decline of 35%. Only postal and courier services posted an increase in turnover during the period under review, by 19%.
Among other business services most activities reported a decline in the period under review. The turnover index in tour operator services fell 70%, marking the sharpest year-on-year drop among all activities in the segment.
Turnover from information and communication services increased by 10% during the third quarter, with telecommunications recording the highest annual growth in turnover, of 25%.
