Bulgaria's retail sales drop by 20.4% y/y in May

Bulgaria's retail sales at constant prices fell further in May, by an annual 20.4%, after decreasing by an annual 19.9% in the previous month, the country's statistical office, NSI, said on Thursday, citing preliminary working-day adjusted data.

On a seasonally-adjusted monthly comparison basis, retail trade turnover at constant prices remained unchanged in May, after declining by 2.0% in April, the NSI said in a statement.

Bulgaria's industrial output decreased by 16.1% year-on-year in May, after shrinking by 15.9% in the previous month, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Thursday, citing preliminary data.

On a seasonally-adjusted monthly comparison basis, industrial production edged down by 0.1% in May, following an 11.7% drop in the month in April, the NSI said in a statement.
