Bulgaria's president calls general election on April 4

Bulgaria's president Rumen Radev said on Thursday that he has decided to call a regular general election on April 4, a week after the earliest possible date.

"The competent authorities should announce clear healthcare measures, which have a decisive role for the election campaign, the recruitment of members of electoral commissions and voter turnout," Radev said during a press conference aired live by public broadcaster BNT.

Bulgaria is scheduled to hold both parliamentary and presidential elections this year.
