Bulgaria's non-govt deposit growth speeds up to 12.2% y/y at end-March

Deposits of Bulgaria's non-government sector rose by 12.2% year-on-year at the end of March, to 95.7 billion levs ($59 billion/48.9 billion euro), after growing by 12% on the year at the end of February, the central bank, BNB, said on Friday.

At the end of March, the value of deposits was equal to 75.9% of Bulgaria's estimated 2021 gross domestic product, the BNB said in a statement.

Deposits of households increased by 12% year-on-year at the end of March, reaching 62.9 billion levs.

Deposits of non-financial corporations totalled 30 billion levs at the end of March, up by an annual 16.1%, while deposits of financial corporations decreased by 14.2% to 2.8 billion levs.
