Bulgaria started 2021 with a registered unemployment rate of 7.0% in January, 0.3 percentage points higher compared to a month earlier, the country's employment agency said on Monday.
The registered unemployment rate went up by 0.7 pp year-on-year in January, the government agency said in a statement.
A total of 14,305, unemployed people found a job in the first month of 2021, while 35,026 people registered with labour offices in the country.
At the end of January, there were 229,750, registered unemployed people, or 9,458 more compared to December and 24,426 more compared to a year earlier, according to the employment agency.
There were 11,378 registered job vacancies at labour offices in the month under review, 34% of which in the manufacturing sector.
