Bulgaria's trade deficit decreased to some 3.6 billion levs ($2.2 billion/1.8 billion euro) in the first ten months of 2020, compared to a gap of 5.9 billion levs in the same period of last year, the statistical office said on Friday, quoting preliminary data.
Ten-month exports (FOB) fell 7.6% year-on-year to 45.2 billion levs, while imports (CIF) declined by an annual 10.9% to 48.8 billion levs, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
In October alone, Bulgaria's trade gap narrowed to 650.5 million levs, from 693.5 million levs in the same month of 2019, as exports declined by 10.8% year-on-year to 4.9 billion levs, whereas imports fell 10.3% to some 5.6 billion levs.
