Bulgaria's GDP grows 4.6% y/y in Q3 - prelim data

Bulgaria's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 4.6% on an annual comparison basis in the third quarter of 2021 after a 9.9% increase in the second quarter of the year, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Tuesday, citing preliminary seasonally adjusted data.

On a quarterly comparison basis, Bulgaria's GDP went up 0.6% in the July-September period, following an increase by the same percentage in the previous quarter, the NSI said in a statement.

The preliminary figures are higher than the NSI's flash estimates for GDP growth of 0.4% year-on-year and 0.9% quarter-on-quarter in July-September 2021 released last month.

Bulgaria's GDP totalled 36.1 billion levs ($20.9 billion/18.5 billion euro) at current prices in the review period, according to the statement.
