Bulgaria's gross domestic product (GDP) fell by 1.8% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2021, following a 3.8% decrease in the fourth quarter of 2020, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Tuesday.
On a quarterly comparison basis, Bulgaria's GDP rose 2.5% in the January-March period of 2021, after a 2.2% increase in the fourth quarter of last year, the NSI said in a flash estimate, citing seasonally adjusted data.
Bulgaria's GDP totalled 26.4 billion levs ($16.5 billion/13.5 billion euro) at current prices in the first quarter.
