Bulgaria's electricity production grew by 22.87% year-on-year to 11,890 GWh from January 1 to March 13, data by the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO) showed.
Domestic power consumption added 4.34% on the year in the review period reaching 9,208 GWh, according to data published in ESO's weekly newsletter.
Bulgaria's power trade surplus surged by 214.95% in the year to date to 2,681 GWh compared to the same period in 2021.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission network increased 14.8% on the year to 314,35 GWh. The volume of renewable energy in the distribution system rose by 16.13% to 424.5 GWh.
The output of hydro power plants went down by 32.27% year-on-year to 900 GWh.
