Bulgaria's Dospat municipality opens EU-funded waste management tender

Bulgaria's Dospat municipality, in the southern part of the country, said that it launched a 3.3 million levs ($2.0 million/1.7 million euro) tender for awarding a waste management contract.

The tender benefits from EU financing under operational programme Environment, the municipality said in a tender notice published on the website of the public procurement agency earlier this week.

The project envisages the management of an installation for pre-treatment of mixed household waste and a composting installation for green waste, the notice showed.

The deadline for submitting offers is March 15. The bids will be ranked solely based on price.

In 2018, the environment ministry said that Dospat municipality will build a composting facility which is expected to be completed within two years. The project's total estimated value is 9.7 million levs, of which 7.3 million levs will come from operational programme Environment, the ministry said at the time.
