The overall business sentiment indicator rose 1.4 percentage points (pp) in February, compared to the first month of 2022, due to increases in the industry, retail trade, and services indicators, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a monthly business climate survey earlier this week.
The composite indicator in the industry sector grew the most - by 2.7 pp month-on-month, as a result of the optimistic industrial entrepreneurs’ assessments and expectations about the business situation of the enterprises. "At the same time, their forecasts about the production activity over the next three months remain favourable," NSI added.
The retail sector indicator increased by 1.3 pp and the business sentiment indicator in the services sector advanced by 1.1 pp.
The business sentiment indicator in the construction sector fell 0.6 pp month-on-month in February.
