An international conference titled “Banking stability” organized by the Bank of the Year Association will take place on December 3 at the National Archaeological Museum in Sofia.
The issue of banking stability is particularly topical in Bulgaria today but it is also important for the other EU Member States, according to the organizers of the event.
The Bulgarian Bank of the Year Association will refrain from bestowing the traditional annual awards in 2014, organizing the conference in its place.
The conference will be devoted to topics such as the problems of banks in European countries and methods and instruments for solving them, conducting stress tests and interpreting stress test results, the creation of liquidity buffers, using financial instruments of the T-LTRO type, etc.
The participants in the conference will seek to answer the question of whether Bulgarian banks are alone in facing the challenges of growth of the modern European and global economy and will also look into the development of the crisis in the Bulgarian and European economies and its impact on the banking sector.
The event is to shed light on the capacity of banks to act as engines for growth and the role of the state in guaranteeing the stability of the economy and the banking system.
