Bulgarians Working Abroad Sent Home Remittances Totaling 1.72 Billion US Dollars in 2014

Bulgarians working abroad sent 1.72 billion US dollars to relatives in their home country in 2014, according to a World Bank report on remittances.
The report of the World Bank, as cited by Pressa daily, shows that Bulgaria’s remittance rates have been increasing over the past five years, from 1.33 billion US dollars in 2010 to 1.67 billion US dollars in 2013 and to 1.72 billion US dollars in 2014.
The number of Bulgarians living overseas is estimated at 1.5-2 million.
