Bulgarian-Romanian Tie-Up Challenges Outcome of Tender for Sofia Public Transport Fare Collection System

Bulgarian-Romanian consortium Sofer is challenging the ranking of offers submitted in a tender for the supply of an automated electronic system for fare collection in Sofia public transport, the Bulgarian competition authority said. Sofer submitted its complaint against the ranking of bids made by Urban Mobility Center, the municipal company operating the public transport in the Bulgarian capital city, on Tuesday, the Commission for Protection of Competition said in a notice published on its website. On July 20, Urban Mobility Center ranked first the 73.2 million levs ($43.8 million/37.4 million euro) offer submitted by Bulgarian-Turkish consortium CNS - Sofia Ticketing System, awarding it the maximum score of 100 points.
