Bulgarian Regulator Opens Proceedings Regarding 100 Mln Euro Railway Tender

Bulgaria's competition regulator said it has decided to open proceedings in relation to a complaint from local company Ros BG over a 195.4 million levs ($116.3 million/99.9 million euro) tender for modernisation of the signaling and telecommunication systems along a railway section between the cities of Plovdiv and Burgas. In addition to its complaint filed on June 12, Ros BG has also asked the anti-trust authority to suspend the tender process until it comes up with a decision, the Commission for Protection of Competition said on its website. Ros BG's complaint concerns a decision by the National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC) to extend the deadline for submitting offers to June 12.
