Bulgaria's competition regulator said that it has dismissed a complaint by local company Ros BG against the extension of a deadline in a 361.5 million levs ($215.9 million/184.8 million euro) tender for the modernisation of the Kostenets - Septemvri railway line. The decision of the National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC) to extend the deadline for submitting offers for the contract was in line with legal requirements and in the best interest of potential bidders, the Commission for Protection of Competition said in a statement published on its website last week. Ros BG filed its complaint on May 21 and the regulator opened proceedings on May 30.The deadline for submitting offers was due to expire on May 28, but due to the suspension in relation to the complaint it will now have to be further extended. The tender was opened in July last year.
