A new infrastructure project, ABC + DE, was presented today. The project is a pan-European initiative that offers an effective solution to the problem with transport of goods and traffic between the regions of the Aegean and Marmara Seas and the Baltic region. The scale of the project includes a long-term solution to the problems of floods along the Danube and provides for efficient use of the natural route of the river. The initiative was presented by the creator of the project, Engineer Rumen Markov.
The project will start with entirely private funding, and the goal is to cover as many industrial centers as possible. Construction of the railway line in the heart of Europe will shorten the route covered by transport of cargo and goods by 6500 km. The future rail-motorway can facilitate traffic of freight trains with a maximum speed of 160 km / h and of passenger trains with a maximum speed of 360 km / h.
The elements of the project include a new port on the Aegean Sea to the town of Feres, Greece, representing the "hub" of Europe, the Black Sea, Azov Sea, Marmara Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean, opening a new door to commerce in Europe, and a new port on the Baltic Sea at the mouth of the Vistula River.
